Are you just starting out as an editor and feeling a little overwhelmed by it all? I'm looking to offer a couple of online workshops, probably in April or May, to share some advice with editors who are new to the business. I’ve been doing this editing thing for nearly seven years now, and recently it occurred to me how useful it would have been to know stuff like how to set pricing, or what red flags to watch out for when looking for new clients or work, or how to set a timeframe for the work, or even how to approach a new edit.
I’d charge a minimal fee, probably AUD 15 per person per session, or AUD 10 per session if you wanted to do both (assuming I’d have enough content for both – but I’m thinking I would). If you’re interested, just let me know in the comments, and also let me know what you’d like me to cover. I’ve been writing a list but I’m sure it’s not exhaustive! And please feel free to share far and wide :) Places will be limited so we can focus on individual questions and give everyone the chance to get the most out of the workshops.
